How Resinwerks Enhanced Boston’s House of Blues

Boston House of Blues floor

Executive Summary

House of Blues Boston is one of the city’s most iconic entertainment venues. Directly across from Fenway Park, it operates at a pace that demands durability, high-end appearance, and reliability. As part of a recent round of facility upgrades, the venue replaced the flooring in the main entry and adjoining restrooms.

Installed by Resinwerks Master Installer, Blackstone Epoxy Design, Resinwerks was selected to deliver a system that could stand up to constant foot traffic and frequent cleaning, while also creating a memorable first impression for every guest walking through the doors.

The Solution That Would Perform and Present

Resinwerks chose a high-impact resistant, solid-color system built for performance and visual punch.

To achieve the venue’s vision, the floor was custom pigmented to match a signature “Red Carpet” color — delivering the bold, high-energy arrival experience House of Blues wanted at the entry.

How We Achieved Both Outcomes

The floor system consisted of Resinwerks Vapor Barrier Epoxy, a highly chemical resistant epoxy offering superior adhesion and protection against elevated moisture and PH levels in concrete. Following that, the floor was coated with a pigmented coat of Resinwerks LevelGuard EP and finished with a coat of HDC 100 Hi-Wear Urethane. All pigmented with the special custom “Red Carpet” color

The installation was completed by Blackstone Epoxy, a Resinwerks Master Installer, ensuring the project met the standards required for a highly visible venue. From prep through topcoat, the focus was on both technical performance and finish quality—delivering a seamless, consistent surface that looks intentional and performs under real-world conditions.

The Result

The finished floor delivered exactly what the venue asked for — an unmistakable, high-impact entrance experience, paired with a commercial-grade system designed for daily use.

Key features include:

  • A signature custom “red carpet” visual that elevates the guest arrival experience
  • A seamless surface that supports faster cleaning and easier maintenance
  • High-impact resistance built for traffic surges, events, and operational wear
  • A durable urethane wear layer designed to stand up to cleaning chemicals and abrasion
